Specifications:

Bisotoun thermal power plant is constructed in order to provide the wide power network for the west part of the country (Kermanshah, Kordestan and Ilam provinces). The power plant is located between the two cities of Kermanshah (20 Km outside) and Bisotun (8 Km outside). This power plant has two steam units with 320 MW capacity each. The main fuel for each unit’s boiler is natural gas and mazut is used as a secondary fuel. The water needed for the power plant is transferred through a pipe to the reservoirs located inside the complex from three wells located 6 kilometers from the power plant and at a close proximity of Gamasiab River with the discharge rate of 2000 m3/h. This power plant has been connected to the main network in 1995 for the first time. The executive process of this project was started on Jan., 2008 and currently stopped due to some financial and contractual problems.
